IndicationActive immunisation of dogs against Bordetella bronchiseptica and canine parainfluenza virus.
ContraindicationsAvoid using in dogs receiving corticosteroids and in pregnant bitches.
ActionsAn inactivated vaccine for the active immunisation of dogs against canine cough (Bordetella bronchiseptica and canine parainfluenza). The addition of the adjuvant enhances the response to vaccination and increases the duration of immunity. Vaccinal immunity following administration is predominantly, but not exclusively, a systemic antibody response with limited cell-mediated immunity.
PrecautionsLocal reactions may occur at inoculation sites in some dogs. Tracheobronchitis can be due to many different agents (multifactorial disease), so prevention of all cases can be difficult when using this vaccine only. Vaccines containing other antigens might be necessary.Disposal Dispose of empty container by wrapping with paper and putting in the garbage. Discarded vials should immediately be placed in a designated and appropriately labelled biologicals container. If this option is not available, bury the vial/container below 500 mm in a disposal pit specifically marked and set up for this purpose, clear of waterways, desirable vegetation and roots. Discarded needles should immediately be placed in a labelled sharps container.
Dosage and AdministrationNote: the removable label should only be removed after the dose has been given. Dosages under normal circumstances. Primary vaccination. Inject subcutaneously or intramuscularly two doses of vaccine at an interval of one month, to dogs 6 weeks of age or over. Nobivac Bb/Pi is suitable for use as a diluent with Nobivac DHP. Booster. An annual booster is recommended. Puppies under severe infectious risk. Due to the interference of maternal antibodies with active immunisation, protection of young puppies can be difficult, especially in infected kennels. Epidemiological conditions and likely persistence of maternal antibody (e.g. antibody titres of the mother, age of weaning) can thus influence the individual response of any given puppy. Susceptible puppies may benefit from an early start of the vaccination program (6 weeks of age). Vaccination at two to three week intervals until 16 weeks of age may also be appropriate in high risk situations.
StorageStore between 2 and 8°C. (Refrigerate. Do not freeze). Protect from light.
