Actions | Hydrocortisone aceponate (HCA) is a double ester of hydrocortisone with unique properties. Cortavance is a modern, potent, and well tolerated topical glucocorticoid especially suited for the treatment of allergic skin conditions in dogs. Cortavance can be used on small or large lesions (up to one-third of the body surface area). Cortavance controls inflammatory and immunological reactions in skin, leading to regression of signs (erythema, oedema, cell infiltration) and associated sensations (itching, pain). Due to its unique metabolism in the epidermis, Cortavance has no systemic or local side effects when used at label dose, and negligible systemic bioavailabilty (0.2%). |
