Indication | Infections due to susceptible organisms, including urinary tract infections, pasteurellosis, mastitis, metritis and ancillary treatment against enteric infections. |
Contraindications | Administration to animals with known hypersensitivity to penicillin. |
Actions | Broad spectrum antibiotic combination. Synergism between penicillin and neomycin produces a greater activity than the use of either antibiotic by itself. |
Precautions | Overdosage with neomycin given parenterally can cause renal damage and deafness. Although this is unlikely at normal therapeutic dosage levels, care should nevertheless be taken with young stock, particularly puppies, kittens and piglets, to ensure accurate dosage calculation based on bodyweight.Persons who are allergic to penicillins or neomycin should avoid direct contact with the product. |
Dosage and Administration | Shake well before use. Horses, cattle, pigs, sheep. 1 mL/20 kg intramuscularly. Dogs, cats. 1 mL/10 kg intramuscularly or subcutaneously.Injections may be repeated at 24 hour intervals for a maximum of 3 days. Repeat injections should not be given at a site previously used. |
Storage | Store at 2 to 8°C. (Refrigerate. Do not freeze.) Protect from light. Use the contents of the vial within 28 days of initial broaching. |
