Indication | Inflammatory, rheumatic, arthritic conditions; alternate day therapy for allergic dermatitis; dirofilarial pneumonitis; kennel cough; inappetence of idiopathic origin in cats; lymphocytic plasmacytic enteritis; Quintox poisoning; granulomatous meningoencephalomyelitis. For use in dogs and cats. |
Contraindications | Corneal ulcers, diabetes mellitus and renal insufficiency. |
Actions | Anti-inflammatory. |
Warnings | In the presence of infection concurrent appropriate antibacterial treatment should be administered. |
Dosage and Administration | 0.5 to 2.5 mg/kg bodyweight daily or 1 tablet/8 to 40 kg bodyweight. Allergic dermatitis. 0.5 to 1 mg/kg twice daily for five to seven days, then 2 mg/kg every other morning between 7 am and 10 am, then at weekly intervals reduce the dose by half to the lowest necessary. Dirofilarial pneumonitis. 1 mg/kg on alternate days for up to three months. Lymphocytic plasmacytic enteritis, Quintox poisoning, granulomatous meningoencephalomyelitis. 1 to 2 mg/kg once or twice daily; each condition requires a different treatment regimen; consult literature. |
