||Topical aversive and antiseptic agent to dissuade dogs and cats from self-traumatising wounds, sutures and dressings. Antiseptic and antifungal activity: chlorhexidine is effective against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria; phenoxyethanol is effective against Gram-negative bacteria, including Pseudomonas sp. Anti-chew effect: the bittering agent denatonium benzoate deters the animal from licking the wound and biting the sutures. Mild local anaesthetic effects from menthol prevents further self-mutilation. Menthol also has antipruritic and counter-irritant properties.
