|Drug Name and Strength||Clenbuterol hydrochloride 0.016 mg/g|
|Indication||Bronchodilator for horses. Conditions where constriction of the airways occurs, bronchospasm and airways obstruction associated with bacterial infection (during and after the infective phase), viral infection (during and after the infective phase), bronchitis, bronchopneumonia, respiratory allergies (e.g. to pollens, fungi, moulds and stable dust), exercise induced bronchospasm, all conditions where narrowing of the small airways is a contributing factor.|
|Actions||Sympathomimetic amine with a high degree of selectivity for the β2-receptor sites in the body. These sites are primarily found in the lungs and uterus. This selectivity allows intense bronchodilating properties with minimum effect on the cardiovascular system. It also has a stabilising effect on mast cells preventing release of histamine, serotonin, bradykinin and slow reacting substance of anaphylaxis (SRSA). Ventipulmin has a beneficial effect on mucociliary clearance by increasing the amount of mucus cleared by the mucociliary escalator.|
|Dosage and Administration||1.25 mL/50 kg bodyweight by slow intravenous or intramuscular injection twice the first day; follow by treatment with Ventipulmin Oral Bronchodilator for Horses for a minimum of five days.|
|Storage||Store below 25°C (air conditioning). Protect from direct sunlight. Discard 28 days after first broaching the bottle.|
